arashiyama bamboo forest
The famous Kyoto bamboo forest ranks undoubtedly with the torii of Fushimi Inari Taisha or the Ginkaku-ji, one of his most famous pictures of Epinal.
Its popularity is such that it easily passes the borders of Japan; thus, it is often found on lists of the most beautiful places on earth, or things must see in his lifetime.
And because if bamboo is certainly not alone in the Kyoto region, it remains probably the largest and ride offers beautiful breakaway. Therefore, tourists jostle hundreds to contemplate. Since the only west path is drawn in between the trees stretches about 500 meters long, and view the relative narrowness of the place, in recent years it often is a challenge to make visitor photos empty.
The hardest remains perhaps to appreciate the delicate rustle of air between the sliding bamboo, by gently fold their high peaks floating in the wind.
At the heart of hundreds of huge trees, the sun slips between sometimes very dense plantations, often in thick diameter. The overall picture offers an inimitable atmosphere that pictures certainly do not render homage.
In Japan, bamboo can be regarded as a symbol of strength; it would ward off evil spirits. This probably explains why the bamboo Arashiyama is encircled by Tenryu-ji entries on one side, and Okochi-Sanso villa on the other. You baladiez by foot, bicycle or rickshaw, the visit will continue and probably equally magical landscapes.
