Exercises volleyball setting drills


The composer is undoubtedly one of the most important positions in the field of volleyball.

This is the player who sets the ball to kill, to be ready for the forwards to score. If you want to hone your skills adjustment to improve your game, there are several exercises you can do. Practicing these regularly will help raise the performance of your team, setting up power games and allows your offense to function properly and efficiently.

 

Set Overhead


This exercise is simple but very effective in forming a smuggler in proper technique and position, as well as consistency. Beginners in particular will benefit from the regular head gaming practice, but even the most advanced players should incorporate exercise in their practices. Blocker Drill Movement

 To work on this skill, practice setters should exercise blocker movement, which requires both framework and visual skills. Three players are needed, including the smuggler, a middle blocker and a coach or another player to pass the ball. Ask setter into position, ready to receive a passing shot in the backcourt. After that person throws the ball, the blocker on the other side of the net movements right or left. The composer must put the ball in the opposite direction.

 

Distance Control


Learning to do if a small clearance, medium or high is another skill that successful setters must master.

Volleyball is a game of speed, so guests should be able to quickly assess the game and move to get the ball in the best position for the attacker. Making remote control exercises can help players learn how to different heights. Practice by pairing setters and making them do 20-50 repetitions of each set of low, medium and high to the next. This type of exercise, though it may seem repetitive, is effective in helping setters learn to manage the speed and distance of their games.

 

Quick sets


This exercise works on the speed and accuracy of setters and is made with three players.

 Two players aligned on a side of the net with a medium in the front position and the other in the back row. The third player is on the opposite side of the net with two volleyball. The player throws the first ball over the net for the player in the back row, which then passes to the setter. The installer then sets the ball to the player on the other side of the net. Meanwhile, this player had already thrown the second ball when the player went back to the setter. This pace continued for several rehearsals before the players rotate positions. The goal is to teach players how to meet the quick passes and work on the technical layout.
